Brent barrel at 102 dollars. Having registered a continuous rise in fuel prices in Portugal in recent weeks, the scenario of instability in the world resulting from the Russia/Ukraine tension predicts even more rises.
As a result of the Russian offensive on Ukrainian soil, the price of the Brent barrel soared to $102.48 on February 23, 2022 (North Sea Brent – used as a benchmark for European imports). It should be noted that Brent has not traded above $100 since July 2014.
Thus, fuel prices in Portugal are expected to continue to rise at a time when 98 gasoline has surpassed the €2 per liter barrier at some gas stations.
